Charles "LeRoy" grew up in Hale, MO and moved to Keosauqua after Army service in WW2. He worked at Farmers Co-op Creamery, Keosauqua, Van Winkle Well Drillers, Salem, operated a service station in Keosauqua from 1960-1973 and was Keosauqua Supt. of Streets until retiring. He was a member of Beer-Barker Post 113, American Legion, Keosauqua and Pheasants Forever, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

"Keosauqua Girl Marries Soldier - Wright-Davis"
Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Davis are announcing the marriage of their eldest Daughter, Ruth Ann Davis, to Sgt. LeRoy Wright, son of Mr. & Mrs. Lilborn Wright of Santa Paula, CA. The marriage took place in Davenport February 8 at the St. John's Methodist parsonage, with the Rev. Wesley Perry officiating. Their attendants were Miss Lola Hull and Alan Dittmer of Davenport.
Mrs. Lawrence Wright, sister-in-law of the bridegroom was a guest at the wedding.
The bride was a graduate of the Keosauqua High School in the class of 1943. Sergeant Wright, a former resident of Iowa, is in the 711th tank battalion in California.
The newlyweds met several years ago when Mr. Wright was visiting Keosauqua relatives.
After a short visit in Davenport the young couple returned to the Bruce Davis residence in Keosauqua.
