" ... Donald was born at home, June 30, 1936 in rural Stockport to Boyd L. and Ruth Marie Brown Kisling and married Karen L. Askew June 30, 1957 in Stockport Methodist Church. Don graduated from Stockport High School and Iowa State University. He taught agricultural education in Paton, IA High School and farmed in the Stockport, Birmingham and Keosauqua areas. He was a member of Stockport United Methodist Church and currently attended First Presbyterian Church, Fairfield and was active in many local organizations including Stockport Lions Club, Federal Land Bank Assn. and Soil Conservation Service. Don entered the Iowa Army National Guard while still in high school and served 20 years in the Guard. His specialties were fixed wing and rotary aircraft as a pilot and mechanic, retiring as a Major and Company Commander. ... "
