Weldon II grew up in the U.S., Canada and Australia. In 1968, he graduated from L.I.F.E. Bible College; from 11 Dec 1968 - 21 Nov 1978, he served in the U.S. Army; and, he was employed at Pettis Memorial Veterans Hospital, Loma Linda, CA, prior to his death. He was a woodcarver of walking sticks, letter openers, etc. [Two of his walking sticks were gifts to me, the writer; they are cherished ... displayed by my hearth.] Memorial for Weldon, Jr. was held at 10:30 a.m., Sat., 4 Feb 1995, at the Pearblossom Foursquare Church, Pearblossom, CA; his father, Rev. Weldon E. Mickel, Sr., officiated. The following is a quote from Weldon, Jr.'s Memorial Service obituary which sums up his life. " He ... went about doing good; a friend and brother in need and deed with a healing touch; loved the Psalms, hymns, spiritual songs and music; lived a servant lifestyle ... for family, friends, church and country; loved and enjoyed God's creation and nature; renovated a chapel in Germany; and practiced love, forgiveness and acceptance daily."

After graduation from L.I.F.E. Bible college in 1968, Weldon ll joined the U.S. Army and left in 1979. He married Ruth Roper in 1985 and had a daughter, Cari Ruth in 1987. After a stint as a butcher, baker, cook, and army reserves for 6 years he went to work at Loma Linda hospital in 1989 working in computers and helping the sick and other related work as required. Weldon ll was a great artist in paint and a wonderful wood carver. Weldon II lived until 1995 when an accident shortend his life at the age of 49.
