Shared Note: - (Research):Capt. James Barker III was Freeman in 1675, member Court Martial Rhode Island in 1676; Deputy Governor in 1678-1716; and Assistant Captain 1703-1709. Was on committee chosen and empowered to proportion and affix rates of grain and other secies to be received as pay for a tax. One bu. corn to be accepted at 25, one bu. barley at 15, 8d, rye 25, 1d, oats 4d, wool 9d, wheat 3d. Was on Committee to divide common lands 1702-1715, receiving 18 acres as his share in 1702. 5.
