Donald H. Bradfield, 90, of Bloomfield formerly of Birmingham died at 8:47 am Thursday March 20, 2014, at Davis County Hospital, Bloomfield.

He was born December 15, 1923, in Packwood to Vern T. and Lora E. Nelson Bradfield and married Mary Syfert on May 17, 1943, in Stockport.

Don lived all of his life in Van Buren County, prior to moving to Bloomfield he lived in the Birmingham area. Most recently he worked as a bus driver for Van Buren Community Schools, had been a farmer and realtor in Milton, a member of Haney-Brannan Post 181 American Legion , Birmingham, a lifelong member of the Stockport Christian Church and was a WWII veteran in the China-Burma-India Theater.

Surviving are his wife Mary of Bloomfield, two sons, Wayne Bradfield‏(Marilyn)‏of Ottumwa and Randy Bradfield‏(Becky)‏of Tipton, two daughters, Anita Swartz‏(Lauren)‏of Baker, OR and Brenda Thomas‏(Steve)‏of Milton, 12 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday March 25, 2014, at Stockport Christian Church, Kevin Mote and Jason Mote officiating. Visitation with family present will be open from 9:30 to 11 am Tuesday prior to the service. Burial with military honors by Haney-Brannan Post 181 American Legion, Birmingham will be in Miller Chapel Cemetery, Rural Keosauqua. Memorial to Stockport Christian Church or Haney-Brannan Post 181 may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 33336 235th St. Milton, IA 52570. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua is handling the arrangements.
