The first mention that I have found of any Lynches in Crawford Co. was of Thomas which was borned Jan 4, 1794 in N. C. He was in the War of 1812: 4 REG'T MOUNTED ‏(EVANS')‏ INDIANA MILITIA. The other names of Lynches were John, Jessee, Jeremiah , Charles, Nancy, Delilah, and Elizabeth.
Crawford County Board of Commissioners Meeting as copied by Matt Tucker;
1818, Aug, 17 on page 1- John Lynch, Brice Patrick & Martin Scott were appointed to view, mark out and report the nearest and besy way for a road from Mount Sterling to Fredonia on fractional section eleven.
1818, Aug 19 page 5-The viewers appointed to view and report on a public road from Fredonia on the Ohio to Mount Sterling having reported that opening a road would be a public convenience Therefore ordered that the way as viewed and marked out by John Lynch, Byrice Patrick and Martin Scott from Fredonia up the bluff of the river about two miles thence to John Lynch's thence to Constant Williams thence by where Lodi is laid out thence by John Sturgeon's on to Mount Sterling be and the same is hereby established a public road and highway and that Brice Patrick be appointed supervisor of said road from Fredonia to the crossing of the Turkey Fork of Little Blue Creek and that.....26 men's name was listed including Thomas Lynch, assist supervisor from Turkey Fork of Little Blue River to Mount Sterling.
1819 May 10 Mount Sterling--Ordered that Benjamin Snelling be appointed supervisor of the road from Fredonia to Mount Sterling so far as Widow Lyntches in the place of Brice Patrick and all the hands in the following bounds assist said Snelling in keeping the same in repair to wit commencing at the mouth of Little Blue River thence up the Turkey Fork of the Troy Road thence with said Troy Road to Cross Roads from the Widow Linches thence to the Ohio so as to include Snelling and Thomas Lintch.
1819 May 11--Ordered that John Lyntch be appointed supervisor of the road from Elizabeth Lyntch to Mount Sterling.

Elizabeth was in the 1820 census as head of household with one male from 10 to 15, one male from 26 to 45, one female 16 to 25, and one female 26 to 44 The two males might be John and Jeremiah, and the females were Delilia and mother, Elizabeth.
In the 1830 census she was with John Sturgeon whom she married Jan 31, 1828. He died later in the year
In the 1840 census, there was an Elizabeth without last name listed which was the right age for Elizabeth Lynch
John was borned Dec. 2, 1791 in Georgia. Thomas was borned Jan 4, 1794 in NC. Jessee was borned Aug 20, 1795 in Georgia. The rest were borned in TN; Nancy borned 1797, Charles borned Jan 25, 1799, Delilia borned Jan 12, 1802, and Jeremiah borned Feb 3, 1804. I have not been able to prove the relationship of these Lynches but they all lived within a short distance of each other at different times. In the census some would be in Hardin Co., KY and in MO., but could be found living at Beechwood in the next census.. At some point in time, they all owned land around Beechwood. Nancy was married to Markus Hoback. He was killed in Fredonia which the court ruled was self defense. She married Joshua Matheny. Charles and Lydia Sheckell Lynch moved to MO. Elizabeth, Delila and Abraham Tower, John, and Jessee and Lucy are buried in the Lynch Cemetery at Beechwood. On Elizabeth's stone it has, Elizabeth wife of J Lynch. A descendent of Jeremiah, which gave me this birthdate and death date which was taken from a family Bible , thinks he may be buried there, also. There are a lot of fieldstone markers in the cemetery. I believe all of the Lynches were the children of Widow Elizabeth Lynch
