Joe was an "Oil Man" for almost all his life. He bought land, drilled wells, and helped others with the same. He even owned an oil refinery in Wichita Falls, TX. Lurene Loofbourrow, his daughter-in-law, remembers that once you got him talking on business that was it. He enjoyed what he did. Lurene says he was an oil man clear to his last days. He was a very social person. He loved people, and they loved him.
