Shared Note: - Ransom died in an auto accident at 23 yrs. of age. He was "Leader Pub. Co." employee.Survived by wife, Helen R. (22) and daughter, Helen B. (3). Helen R. died at age 27. After the death of her mother, Helen "Bea" was cared for by her maternal grand- mother, Mary Isabelle (Lynch) Hockaday; at a later date she went to live with her paternal grandparents, C.R.Johnson's, in Newton, Harvey Co, Kansas. "Bea" graduated from High School there in Spring of 1947 and married shortly after. Resided Newton, Kansas, after marriage. Later, moved to AZ, and then to Oceanside, CA; currently lives in Nashville, AR.
Helen R. (Hockaday) Johnson was a resident of Halls Station, MO, 8 days prior to her death.
The Guthrie Daily Leader Guthrie Oklahoma Tuesday, November 17, 1936 Former Resident Dies Funeral arrangements are being made for Mrs. Helen Johnson, 27, who died in a St. Joseph, Mo., hospital after a short illness, it was learned Tuesday. She is the widow of the late Ransom Johnson. While in Guthrie she was employed by the Southwestern Bell Telephone company. For the last four years she has lived near St. Joseph. She may be buried in Guthrie. (She is buried at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, OK, with her husband.)
The Guthrie Daily Leader Guthrie, Oklahoma Wednesday, November 18, 1936 Johnson Funeral Rites Set Thursday Funeral rites for Mrs. Helen Johnson, 27, former resident of Guthrie who died of pneumonia in a St. Joseph, Mo., hospital, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the Davis funeral home Burial will be in Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, Oklahome.. Among the survivors are a daughter, Beatrice, 8, her father, A. Hockaday, of near Guthrie, four sisters and one brother. Mrs. Johnson is a sister-in-law of Mrs. Melvin Johnson, of Guthrie.
