He served in the Revolutionary War in Capt. James Young's Company, 8th Battalion, commanded by Col. Abraham Smith, 1779. In 1803 his sons, Benjamin, Ebenezer, Nathan, and John moved to Ohio and served in the War of 1812 from there.

A 1790 Baptist Church Census lists John Wade Loveberry as head of a family in Harrison Co., Virginia.
He was a Baptist minister, and in 1813, he organized the first religious organization in Madison Twp., Fayette Co., Ohio.

Served in Capt. James Young's Company, 8th Bn, Col Abraham Smith, 1778, 5th Class Cumberland Co, Pa. Born Apr 28, 1748, Amboy, NJ. Parents: Wade Loofbourrow, Amboy, NJ. Mar Mary Haff Sept 10, 1767. Children: Abigail, Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Mary, David, John, Benjamin, Wade, Evenezer, Thomas ‏(br July 21, 1792)‏ Nathan ‏(br Dec 22, 1794)‏. D 1714, near Waterloo, Fayette C, OH. Buried Mesmore Cem, Monroe Twp, Pickaway Co, near line of Fayette Co. Went from NJ into PA, where he married and served in Revolutionary War. Then into VA. Came to OH 1803. Was Baptist minister. Organized Baptist Church near Waterloo, Fayette Co, OH, July 17 1813.

John Wade Loofbourrow was born to Wade and Sarah Loofborough in 1746. He married Mary Haff or Hoff on 10 Sep 1767 in Pennsylvania and was a veteran of the Revolutionary War as a soldier from PA ‏(Capt. James Young's Co., 8th BN, Col. Abraham Smith, 1778, 5th Class, Cumberland Co. PA)‏. The family moved to present day Harrison Co. WV about 1785 ‏(Clarksburg area)‏ where he was a Baptist minister. War veterans were given parcels of land in Ohio, so he emigrated to Waterloo, present day Fayette Co. Ohio in 1803 and organized a Baptist church there. His Will is dated 15 Dec 1808 ‏(Circleville book 1 page 12)‏ and he died on 13 Jan 1814 and was buried in Messmore Cemetery at Waterloo. The cemetery was flooded about 1967 for Deer Creek Lake and the remains were relocated to New Holland Cemetery south of Waterloo.
