1918 was an interesting and important year in world history, in American history, and a major year in the life of Royal. It was the year he turned 18, graduated from Pasadena H.S., started college, entered the Army (the U.S. had just entered WWI), learned to dance, and catapulted into his adult life… A very interesting account. Royal was the son of Oliver & Ella (Loofbourrow) Day and was born in 1900 in Iowa. His family moved to Pasadena when he was starting his teens.
While this diary has many special meanings for the family, it also is a unique book for those that enjoy a real and honest account of what life was like as a teen coming of age 100 years ago.
