In the early to mid 1800s, Jane’s grandparents moved from Scotland to Northern Ireland. There, they had a family, including Jane Agnew’s father David Agnew who eventually married Jenny Erskine and started their own family. Jane was their first born and would later, at the age of 22, migrate to America. There are still other Agnew descendants living in the same area and on the same farm, attending the same Raloo Presbyterian Church there. This story is of Margie (Hockaday) Kinnaman’s trip she made with her daughter Anita Allison and her family and with cousin Nancy Snow. Many photos of the various old home and farm locations, along with photos of our Ulster-Scot cousins that remain in Ireland.
These cousins are related to some of the Loofbourrow family but not all. Our family connection is through John & Mollie (Barker) Loofbourrow, as Jane Agnew Barker was Mollie’s mother.
Read more of the reunion, the 175 anniversary celebration at the Raloo Church and an opportunity to learn of our distant cousins.
