Dennis was the third son born to Robert and Lulu (Holloway) Loofbourrow, born November 17, 1951. He grew up in San Dimas, CA, with his brothers Jim, Bill and Daryl.
He met Rosemary Mixell in the youth group at the Pomona Assembly of God church. They were married on May 11, 1974. During this time, Dennis was in the Navy for six years. He used the skills he learned in the Navy to become a hospital facilities engineer. His last position was Chief Engineer at Petaluma Valley Hospital.
Dennis and Rosemary were blessed with two children: their son Jake in 1980, and daughter Karly in 1981. Dennis loved his family and sought to bring them up in the adoration of the Lord.
He made elaborate events out of family gatherings and got them all on film. With his video camera and creative imagination, he turned family members into movie stars acting out his crazy scripts. He studied the art of makeup just to add the perfect touches to, “Loofbourrow Productions”, playing in a home entertainment center near you. Dennis even surprised his near grown children with a trip to Disneyland within the year of his passing.
He captivated the hearts of his nieces and nephews with his ability to make each one feel they were the center of his attention. His friends became family as he poured his heart into being a true friend. And who can ever forget his boisterous laugh and contagious smile!
Dennis committed his life to the Lord as a very young man. He had a passion for God’s Word and spent his life living the scripture, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” (2 Tim. 2:15) How gracious of God to arrange for Dennis to spend his last Sunday on earth in the pulpit. He passed suddenly on December 3, 1999, age 48.
