Vercill passed on to join the Lord on Oct 21st (Friday evening), just a week after his 91st birthday.
Vercill was the youngst child of John and Molly Loofbourrow’s 8 children and the first and only to be born in California, just a few months after the family had moved from Iowa in 1920.

Vercill was born at the new family home at 1408 W.Grand, Pomona CA on October 15, 1920. He attended Pomona schools: Hamilton Elementary, Fremont Jr. High, and Pomona High School.
He was drafted into the military at age 22. His older brother, Delmar, joined the Navy before he did. He served in the US Navy, Jun 1943 – Aug 1945. His 23rd birthday was celebrated at Pearl Harbor, Territory of Hawaii. His rank was Boson Mate Second Class.
Vercill and Ruth married on 24 Jul 1948 and he was employed by the Brentwood Egg Company. Vercill retired from Safeway in 1983 when he was 63. He has always enjoyed woodworking and has made all sorts of decorative, as well as, handy, useful items/gadgets through the years. He enjoyed his gardening, his wood shop, and he enjoyed the outdoors with campling, fishing, and hiking. Also, he has always made the most delicious pomegranate jelly.
He grew up at a colorful and adventurious time, and we, all of the family, dearly loved him. He would tell the most wonderful stories and always had a joke and a laugh and a most beautiful twinkle in his eyes. He has passed on to each of us a blessing by his life and we will always treasure him.
